Winning Michigan

While Michigan helped secure Donald Trump's victory in 2016, Biden carried the state in 2020. Since then, Democrats have gained ground in the state, culminating most recently with the election of a Democratic trifecta (control of the governorship and both state legislative chambers). In 2024, Michigan will once again be a critical Presidential battleground state, while down-ballot retirements have vacated competitive U.S. House and U.S. Senate seats. Democrats will also need to defend a narrow majority in the state legislature.
