Help competitive candidates in must-win races

Fundraising is one of the most important—and strategic—ways to help Democrats win up and down the ballot. That’s why Swing Left offers the tools you need to raise money for competitive races where every dollar makes a real difference.

Fundraising isn’t all about exclusive events where folks cut big checks to campaigns and PACs. Many successful campaigns are powered by grassroots donations, just a few dollars at a time. You and your personal network—and thousands of people like you across the country—can beat the Big Money Republicans at their own game.

On average, each Swing Left fundraising page raises about $2,000. These individual fundraisers add up—and help provide critical financial support to Democrats in hundreds of key races up and down the ballot.

  • Select one of our strategic funds, from pooled candidate funds like our National Impact Fund to district-specific funds supporting a competitive race near you. No matter what you choose, Swing Left does the research to ensure the dollars you raise are put to good use.
  • Fill out a short form to customize a unique fundraising page where you can collect and track donations.
  • Share your fundraising page with friends and family. Don't forget to check out Swing Left’s resources to help you hit your goal!

Level up your fundraising

Make an effective ask

Heart icon

Tie your fundraising communications to what people care about. There’s so much at stake, and you can connect the dots about how people’s donation will make a difference on the issues that are important to them.

Message icon

Tailor your messages to your audience. A text to your friends might look different from an email to your neighbors, or a post on social media.

Donate icon

Giving is contagious. Consider promoting a donation match, a fundraising challenge, thank you shoutouts to folks who’ve contributed, and consistently share your progress.

Remember to follow up

  • Send thank you notes and updates as you continue raising toward your goal! This is a simple way to make contributors feel appreciated, part of something larger, and know their donation didn’t just go into a black hole. Simply click the “stats” button on your published page to view a list of your contributors, including their location and email address.
    • Tip: If you’re a Swing Left group leader, send these folks a special invitation to join your group if they haven’t already!

Host an event (virtual or in-person!)

  • All across the country, people like you have been hosting fundraising events, from small, friends-and-family gatherings in their homes, to headline-grabbing parties, and everything in between. No matter what sort of event you’re envisioning, check out Swing Left’s fundraising event guide to plan and execute an awesome event.
