Blueprint for Democracy Fund
What you need to know
Down-ballot races and civic organizations are often underfunded and overlooked in favor of high-profile races at the top of the ticket. By supporting a combination of grassroots groups, Democratic state parties, and legislative candidates in competitive states, you can help win elections in the short term and build lasting infrastructure, too.
Where your money goes
Asian American Advocacy Fund
Asian American Advocacy Fund is dedicated to building a politically-conscious, engaged, and progressive Asian American base in Georgia. The organization's on-the-ground organizing work to help historically overlooked communities is crucial for building long-term political power.
Detroit Action
Detroit Action is committed to organizing in communities of color and among college and high school students to turn out voters for federal, state, and local elections. Detroit Action also prioritizes building long-term infrastructure in key districts, highlighting candidates, and holding elected officials accountable.
Carolina Federation
Carolina Federation is a statewide organization focused on building long-term power and permanent, progressive majorities in North Carolina through a commitment to building evergreen organizing infrastructure across the state.
Leaders Igniting Transformation
Leaders Igniting Transformation (LIT) is a Black and Brown-led organization committed to organizing young people and building independent political power for social, racial, and economic justice in Milwaukee and all of Wisconsin. With the launch of a statewide campus organizing fellowship, LIT will help mobilize and turn out crucial young voters in 2024 and beyond.
North Carolina Democratic Party
The North Carolina Democratic Party supports the statewide voter education, protection, and mobilization infrastructure and leads efforts to elect Democrats up and down the ballot so they can fight for affordable health care, job creation, livable wages, good public schools, and more. Investing year-round in Democratic infrastructure and leadership pipelines is critical in a purple state like North Carolina.
Democratic Party of Wisconsin
The Democratic Party of Wisconsin provides year-round orgnaizing infrastructure across the state while working to encourage voter paricipation, run voter protection programs, and persuade voters to support Democrats. The party's neighborhood organizing model helps build local grassroots muscle and longlasting relationships between voters, volunteers, community leaders, and elected officials.
Swing Left Arizona State Fund
Despite Arizona's “independent” redistricting committee, its current voting maps are gerrymandered to favor Republicans. However, both state legislative chambers are just one flip away from ties, and two flips away from Democratic majorities. Swing Left's pooled fund supports five Arizona Democrats—two running for the AZ House and three for the AZ Senate—who can shift the balance of power within the state.
Swing Left Michigan State Fund
Michigan Democrats flipped both state legislative chambers in 2022 after the state's new independent redistricting committee undid a GOP gerrymander. Now margins in both chambers are extremely narrow, so Democrats will need to defend their trifecta to maintain a pathway for progressive legislation. Swing Left's pooled fund supports five Democrats running for the MI House, including three holds and two potential red-to-blue flips.
Swing Left New Hampshire State Fund
New Hampshire currently has a Republican trifecta, holding the governor's office and majorities in both legislative chambers. However, Democrats gained ground in the NH House in 2022 and can continue making progress in the lower chamber this November, when all 400 seats are up for election. Swing Left's pooled fund goes to the NH House Caucus to direct funds to legislative candidates in need of support.
Swing Left Pennsylvania State Fund
Pennsylvania Democrats narrowly flipped the state House in 2022 and have faced an uphill battle to maintain that majority through the 2023 special election cycle, with the current margin still at +/- one seat. In November, half of the PA Senate will be up for election, with multiple vulnerable GOP incumbents. Swing Left's pooled fund supports six Democrats running for the PA House—three holds and three potential flips—and two Democrats running for the PA Senate, including one open seat and one flip opportunity.
